Ecumenical Prayers
An ecumenical prayer is a prayer or worship service that brings together Christians from different denominations or traditions (Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, Methodists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and Pentecostals) to pray in unity. It is rooted in the belief that, despite historical divisions or theological differences, all Christians find salvation in and share a foundational bond in Jesus Christ.
I have arranged this ecumenical prayer service to be focused on praying against the threat of Ebola on our nation. The intention is to sit down as a family unit, colleagues in an office, fellowship group members in a church, students in a classroom, a couple on a date, chama members and pray together.
The style of prayer used in here is one whereby there is a lead referred to as a prayer conductor and the group they are praying with referred to as members. The prayer conductor leads and the prayer members follow. The prayers are arranged in a simple way such that even children can come together and pray.
